MB Dynamics Model CAL25HF High Frequency Air Bearing Exciter

engineering services, has introduced the Model CAL25HF high frequency air bearing vibration exciter.

The Model CAL25HF high frequency air bearing vibration exciter offers improved transverse performance over traditional flexural-based calibration exciters, with reliable operation over an operating bandwidth of 3 Hz to 20 kHz. It is available as either a stand-alone unit, or as part of a larger automated calibration test system. The high-reliability air bearing design of the Model CAL25HF incorporates a lightweight Beryllium (Be) armature and removable Be test instrument mounting fixture (TIMF), for the necessary high stiffness, low mass and high resonant frequency required for accurate, repeatable performance. Pneumatic-based automatic payload re-centering helps to mitigate the risks of unwanted noise on the armature. The Model CAL25HF further features an IEPE internal reference accelerometer with 20 mV/g sensitivity (optional 100 mV/g), not built into the armature. The internal reference accelerometer offers a <1 Hz to 55 kHz usable frequency range, 70 kHz mounted resonance and extremely low sensitivity to thermal drift. Back-to-back calibrations of the Model CAL25HF are performed by comparing device-under-test (DUT) output to known reference accelerometer output values. The Model CAL25HF is compliant with ISO 16063-21, Clauses 4.3 & 4.4, with its transverse motion specifications meeting ISO 16063-21.

Typical applications for the Model CAL25HF include high-volume accelerometer calibrations, sensor manufacturing quality assurance testing, and in-laboratory R&D instrumentation verifications. Units are designed to accurately calibrate accelerometers and vibration sensors with diameters of up to 70
millimeters and weights of up to 910 grams. The Model CAL25HF is one of three high-performance air bearing exciters available from MB Dynamics. Each offers low cross-axis sensitivity and low distortion motion performance. MB Dynamics Appoints Craig Aszkler Director of Business Development

April 17, 2018 – Cleveland, Ohio, USA MB Dynamics (www.mbdynamics.com), a privately-held leading global designer, manufacturer and supplier of vibration test systems and equipment, including squeak and rattle test systems, steering test systems, suspension component test systems, modal exciters and amplifiers, calibration systems, dynamic controllers, transducer calibration, and engineering services, today announced the appointment of Craig Aszkler as its new director of business development.

In this new role, Mr. Aszkler will be supporting MB Dynamics’ strategic sales growth objectives via the expansion and diversification of the company’s vibration, shock and acoustic test systems business, as well as its calibration and engineering service offerings, all within target markets and geographies of focus. Those efforts shall further include the building of strategic alliances with industry partners to create leading-edge solutions. Mr. Aszkler will also support customer technical troubleshooting requirements, acting as a liaison between sales and engineering.

Mr. Aszkler is a 25-year veteran of the testing and instrumentation space. He has served in a progressive series of leadership roles across the industry, including 13 years as the former vibration division manager at PCB Piezotronics (PCB). During his PCB tenure, Mr. Aszkler achieved an unprecedented 15% year-on-year worldwide growth metric across all product lines of responsibility, while continuing to evolve the company’s shock, vibration and acoustic sensing technologies for automotive, aerospace, power generation, test and measurement and industrial requirements. Mr. Aszkler’s proven operational and executive leadership expertise led to subsequent roles as the president of the Tulsa, OK-based Gunnebo Johnson; and most recently, as president and general manager of Stahl Truck Bodies. Mr. Aszkler holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Siena College; a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo; and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Rochester William E. Simon Graduate School of Business.
